DCS: Dutch Chemometrics Society

Welcome to the website of The Dutch Chemometrics Society!

The Dutch Chemometrics Society or “Werkgroep Chemometrie” is a working group within the Section Analytical Chemistry (SAC) of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV).

The society organizes an annual symposium on chemometrics and contributes to activities of (other working parties of) the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society. Every three years it also organizes the International Chemometrics Research Meeting (ICRM). Occasionally workshops or masterclasses on more focused topics are organized.

New Board for the Dutch Chemometrics Society

11 April 2026

The Dutch Chemometrics Society is pleased to announce its new board. With this new team in place, we are looking ahead with renewed enthusiasm and a clear ambition: to bring new energy to the chemometrics community in the Netherlands.

Chemometrics continues to play an important role in connecting data, modelling, and real-world applications across science and industry. As a society, we want to strengthen that connection by creating more opportunities for exchange, discussion, and collaboration between researchers, students, and professionals working in this field. The new board is committed to supporting an active and visible community in which knowledge sharing, inspiration, and networking remain central.

The new DCS board consists of Rita Folcarelli, Agnieszka Smolinska, Ewa Szymańska, Ewoud van Velzen, Robert van Vorstenbosch, Andrea Junior Carnoli, and Tijmen Bos. Together, they represent a broad range of expertise across academia and industry, and they are motivated to further strengthen the position of chemometrics in the Netherlands.

In the coming period, the board will focus on stimulating interaction within the community and creating attractive activities for members and other interested professionals. A first step in this will be the first digital session with talks, which will take place in June. More information about the programme and speakers will follow soon, so we encourage everyone to keep posted.

We are excited about this new chapter for the Dutch Chemometrics Society and look forward to meeting many of you during upcoming activities and events.
